Frozen Squid Ring

Frozen Squid Ring Skin On is a ring-cut squid product with the natural skin retained, made from wild-caught squid and individually quick-frozen (IQF). The skin-on cut locks in moisture and gives the rings their signature red-and-white appearance, while the pre-cleaned, ready-to-cook format saves kitchen labor. A versatile staple for fried calamari, stir-fry, grill, and Asian seafood cuisines.

What It Is

Our squid rings are produced from premium wild squid — typically Todarodes pacificus (Pacific flying squid), Illex argentinus (Argentine shortfin squid), or Dosidicus gigas (Humboldt squid) by origin. The squid mantle is cleaned, trimmed, and cross-cut into even rings with the skin left on, then IQF-frozen to keep each ring separate and free-flowing. No unnecessary additives are used.

FAQ

What does "skin on" mean?
The squid's natural outer skin is kept on the ring. It helps retain moisture and gives the rings a red/pink-and-white look that many buyers (especially in Southeast Asia) prefer. A skinless version is also available on request.

What squid species is used?
Commonly Todarodes pacificus (Pacific flying squid), Illex argentinus (Argentine shortfin squid), or Dosidicus gigas (Humboldt squid), depending on origin and supply. All are true squid (cephalopods), not octopus.

What sizes are available?
Graded by ring diameter — e.g., 3–5 cm, 5–8 cm, 8–12 cm, 12 cm+ — with ring thickness typically 0.5–1.5 cm, customizable to buyer specifications.

What is the allergen?
Mollusc (cephalopod). Not a fish or crustacean allergen. Label accordingly for end consumers.

Is this product ready to eat?
No. It is a raw frozen seafood item and must be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
