Giant Squid Tentacle | Frozen Dosidicus gigas Tentacle (BQF) | — [Easyseafood]
Giant Squid Tentacle is the arm cluster of the jumbo squid — Dosidicus gigas (Humboldt / jumbo flying squid) — wild-caught in the Southeast Pacific (FAO 87, Peru/Chile), individually quick-frozen (IQF) and blanched for a crisp, no-shrink texture. Each tentacle is a substantial, meaty cut that stays tender yet firm after cooking. Distinct from our Giant Squid Head Skin Off (head + tentacle, skin removed, IQF), this product is the tentacle portion only, typically left skin-on. A true squid (cephalopod) product prized for braising, grilling, hot pot, fried snacks, and Asian / Mediterranean preparations.
What It Is
Our giant squid tentacles are produced from wild-caught Dosidicus gigas (Humboldt squid), also known as jumbo flying squid — a Peru-origin species (FAO 87) valued for its thick, meaty arms. Caught by jigging in the Humboldt Current (FAO 87) and sea-frozen shortly after landing, the tentacles are cleaned, cut, and blanched (par-cooked), then individually quick-frozen (IQF) to deliver a crisp, no-shrink bite. They are trimmed to customer spec — commonly neck-off, beak-off, eye-off, and sucker-off (Cut 5, preferred by EU/US buyers), with sexual organ removed on request. The product is typically skin-on; glaze is kept low (0–30%) to protect net weight. No unnecessary additives.

FAQ
What is your MOQ, and can different products be mixed in one container? Standard MOQ for this item is one 40' reefer container (approx. 18–28 MT depending on pack); 20' reefer available on request. Mixed loading with other frozen seafood items from our catalog is available subject to compatible storage temperature and carton dimensions.
What is the production lead time, and what Incoterms do you offer? Typical lead time is about 7–25 days after order confirmation and receipt of deposit. We trade on FOB, CIF, and CFR terms. Main loading ports: Fuzhou / Xiamen / Qingdao, China.
What payment terms do you accept? We accept T/T (30% deposit, 70% against copy of B/L) and L/C at sight for qualified buyers.
Can you provide samples? What is the sample cost and lead time? Samples of frozen giant squid tentacle are subject to intact cold chain; where feasible we ship reference samples frozen with temperature control. Sample and international courier costs are borne by the buyer (or deducted from the first official order). Sample lead time is 5–7 working days.
What export documents do you provide? We supply Health Certificate, Certificate of Origin, Catch Certificate / IUU Declaration, Certificate of Analysis (COA), Heavy Metal & Microbiology Analysis, Packing List, Commercial Invoice, and Bill of Lading. EU-approved establishment number and HALAL certificate are issued where required by destination.
Which certifications apply to this product? HACCP and HALAL as standard; BRC, ISO 22000, FDA registration, and EU approval can be supplied on request depending on market requirements.
What is the country of origin and FAO fishing area? How is traceability managed? Country of origin: China (CN), processed from wild-caught Dosidicus gigas sourced mainly from FAO 87 (Southeast Pacific, Peru/Chile, Humboldt Current). Each lot carries a batch code linked to catch and processing records for full traceability.
What are the carton specifications and container loading? Standard packing: 2 × 10 kg block (poly-wrapped in woven bag) or 10 kg carton; retail packs 1 kg × 10 / 500 g × 20 available. Approx. 18–28 MT per 40' reefer depending on pack config; palletization available.
What is the remaining shelf life at shipment, and how do you guarantee cold-chain integrity? Minimum 24 months from production; we ensure at least 22–23 months remaining at shipment. Reefer set at -18°C (±1°C) with optional temperature logger; containers are pre-cooled before loading.
Do you offer OEM / private label / custom specifications? Yes. We support OEM, private label, and custom spec — cut grade (Cut 3/4/5), skin-on/off, sucker-on/off, raw or pre-boiled, glaze % (0–65%, net weight 100% available), block or retail pack, and labeling adjustments on request.
Is this the same as Giant Squid Head Skin Off, and what species is used? This is the tentacle (arm) portion only, typically skin-on and IQF-frozen (blanched for a crisp bite) — distinct from our Giant Squid Head Skin Off, which is the head-and-tentacle cut with skin removed and IQF-frozen. Both use the same species: Dosidicus gigas (Humboldt / jumbo squid), a true squid (cephalopod), not octopus.
What is the allergen and additive policy? Allergen: Mollusc (cephalopod) — not a fish or crustacean allergen. No preservatives added; glaze is potable water only unless otherwise specified.
