In the first half of 2025, South Korea imported 59,054 tons of frozen cod, a 10% year-on-year decrease; the import value remained roughly flat at approximately $63.59 million.

The average price rose by 11% to $1.08 per kilogram.

Among supply sources:

• Russia accounted for 96.58% of imports, with an average price of $1.06/kg;

• The U.S. made up 3.18%, with an average price of $1.62/kg;

• Frozen cod supplied by China had an average price of $1.73/kg, the highest among major sources.
