Myanmar's shrimp exports exceed 10,000 tons, generating annual revenue of 33.136 million US dollars.

According to the Department of Fisheries of Myanmar, the country exported over 10,000 tons of shrimp overseas in the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
From April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, Myanmar exported a total of 10,581.524 tons of shrimp, generating export earnings of 33.136 million US dollars.
Of the total volume, 9,593.594 tons were exported via formal trade channels and 987.93 tons through border trade channels. The export volume represented an increase of 1,434.909 tons compared with the same period of the previous year.
Myanmar’s domestically produced aquatic products including shrimp, fish and crabs are exported directly to more than 40 countries such as China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Japan through formal trade channels in Yangon as well as border trade routes. It is reported that Myanmar’s total aquatic product exports surpassed 460,000 metric tons in
the 2025–2026 fiscal year, bringing in revenue of 689.15 million US dollars.
