In mid-January 2026, the international market prices of Ecuadorian white shrimp remained generally stable, with the core support coming from the continuous procurement in the Chinese market and the cautious recovery in demand in the European market after the holiday season.
In terms of specific quotations, the current FOB price of shell-on and head-on white shrimp of the 30/40 size is stable at $4.5-$4.6 per kilogram, which is close to the price low since the end of 2024. Quotations for other mainstream sizes are as follows: the 20/30 size is about $5.8 per kilogram, the 40/50 size about $4.5 per kilogram, the 50/60 size about $4.3 per kilogram, the 60/70 size about $4.2 per kilogram, and the 70/80 size is close to $4 per kilogram.
On the supply side, the harvest of Ecuadorian white shrimp in 2026 has been good, with sufficient supply of medium and large-sized goods, exerting certain downward pressure on market prices.
Reviewing January-November 2025, Ecuador's white shrimp export performance was outstanding, with export volume reaching 1.28 million tons and export value hitting 6.8 billion US dollars, representing a year-on-year increase of 14% and 23% respectively.
Looking ahead to the market outlook, although the Chinese Lunar New Year is approaching and procurement activities in the domestic market may slow down slightly, the overall demand remains strong. The market prices of Ecuadorian white shrimp are expected to see limited fluctuations in the short term.
